The movie 'Sitaare Zameen Par', starring Aamir Khan, was released on July 20 and faced a unique situation when the filmmakers were requested to include a quote from Prime Minister Narendra Modi referring to the year 2047 in the opening disclaimer. This suggestion came from the nine-member revising committee of the CBFC, led by theatre director Waman Kendre.

The revising committee is assembled to review films post their initial screening. While the reason behind the CBFC's request for Modi's quote in the disclaimer remains unclear, this marks a rare instance of a film being asked to include the Prime Minister's quote in such a manner. An image of the quote included at the beginning of the film reads: 'In 2047, when we celebrate the 100th anniversary of independence, our divyang friends will be seen as an inspiration to the whole world. Today, we have to be determined for this goal. Let us all together build a society where no dream or goal is impossible only then we will be able to build a truly inclusive and developed India.'

Narendra Modi has been promoting the use of 'divyangjan' instead of 'viklang' for the specially-abled individuals, as part of the government's initiative to enhance the quality of life for this group in India. However, this change in terminology has faced criticism from some quarters who find it condescending.

Additionally, the CBFC has requested the makers of 'Sitaare Zameen Par' to replace the term 'businesswoman' with 'business person' and remove the visual of 'Kamal' (Lotus) along with the corresponding word from the subtitles.
