The Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has granted bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi in the Shadman arson case that occurred on May 9.

During a session at Kot Lakhpat Jail, ATC Judge Manzar Ali Gill approved Qureshi's bail after thorough arguments presented by his legal team, Rana Muddasir Umar and Barrister Taimoor Malik. This decision follows a similar bail approval for former Punjab Governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema in the same case.

In another development, a judicial magistrate in Islamabad has acquitted several senior PTI members involved in protest demonstrations on April 26, 2024. These protests were organized to challenge alleged election rigging.

Judicial Magistrate Shehzad Khan of the District and Sessions Court announced the acquittal of PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Omar Ayub, Ali Bukhari, Shoaib Shaheen, Amir Dogar, Malik Rafiq, and Amir Mughal. The protests had started from Shoaib Shaheen's office and proceeded towards Karachi Company.

After hearing the defense's arguments, the court had reserved its verdict, ultimately leading to the acquittals in FIR No. 498 registered at Karachi Company police station.

These legal decisions provide substantial relief to PTI leadership amidst a series of legal battles resulting from recent political turmoil and protest activities throughout Pakistan.
