TNT has kept its grand slam dream alive by eliminating the last franchise to achieve it, Magnolia. In a thrilling do-or-die quarterfinals match of PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup, TNT narrowly defeated Magnolia with a score of 80-79 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Saturday.

Kelly Williams once again proved to be the hero for TNT, sinking crucial free throws in the final moments of the game to secure the victory. Despite going scoreless for almost five minutes in the fourth quarter, Williams' clutch performance, along with Calvin Oftana's game-saving defense, propelled TNT to the semifinals.

TNT head coach Chot Reyes acknowledged the team's exhaustion due to a short rotation but commended his players for their resilience. The team will now face either Rain or Shine or NLEX in their quest for a grand slam title.

Throughout the game, both teams displayed impressive shooting from beyond the arc, with TNT initially taking the lead with a series of three-pointers. However, Magnolia fought back and managed to tie the game in the closing minutes before Williams' game-winning free throws sealed the victory for TNT.

In the previous game, Williams also played a crucial role in securing a one-point victory for TNT. The team's perseverance and determination have been key factors in their success so far in the tournament.

Despite a valiant effort from Magnolia, led by Zavier Lucero and Ian Sangalang, they fell short in their bid to advance to the next round. Magnolia, the last franchise to achieve a grand slam in 2014, put up a strong fight but ultimately could not overcome TNT's late-game heroics.
