US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that a successful attack had been carried out on three nuclear sites in Iran, including at Fordow.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump mentioned that all planes involved in the attack had safely returned home, and he commended the American military personnel involved.

Trump concluded his post by calling for peace amidst escalating tensions.

The attack took place following a week of aerial combat between Israel and Iran, resulting in casualties in both countries.

Israel initiated the attacks on Iran with the goal of preventing Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons, while Iran maintains that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.

Despite diplomatic efforts by Western nations to de-escalate the situation, the conflict persisted.

In a separate social media post, Trump mentioned the destruction of the Fordow underground nuclear storage facility in Natanz.

The bombing was carried out by B-2 bombers that had been deployed to Guam earlier that day, as confirmed by US sources.

A US official informed Reuters that B-2 bombers were utilized in the strikes on Iran's nuclear sites, although it remains unclear if Israeli forces were also involved in the operation, marking a significant escalation in hostilities.
