In a post on social media, the US president said ‘A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home’

President Donald Trump has announced that the US military has conducted strikes on three Iranian nuclear sites, aligning directly with Israel's efforts to dismantle Iran's nuclear program. This move is seen as a risky attempt to weaken a long-standing adversary amidst Tehran's threats of retaliation that could escalate into a broader regional conflict.

The decision to involve the US military comes after a series of Israeli strikes on Iran over the past week, aimed at dismantling the country's air defenses, offensive missile capabilities, and damaging its nuclear enrichment facilities. US and Israeli officials believe that American stealth bombers, along with a 30,000-lb. bunker buster bomb unique to them, provide the best chance of destroying heavily fortified underground sites linked to the Iranian nuclear program.

Trump stated, "We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home."

These strikes pose a significant risk for the US, as Iran has vowed to retaliate if the US joined Israel's offensive. It also presents a personal challenge for Trump, who campaigned on a platform of avoiding costly foreign conflicts and has been critical of American interventionism.
