Former Texas Representative Blake Farenthold, who resigned from Congress following sexual harassment allegations, has passed away at the age of 63. His former political consultant, Steve Ray, confirmed the news citing health reasons. Farenthold's wife, Debbie Farenthold, also verified his death.

Blake Farenthold was elected in 2010, defeating long-serving Democratic Representative Solomon Ortiz. After seven years in office, Farenthold decided not to seek reelection.

In a video shared on his campaign's Facebook page, Farenthold refuted accusations from a former aide about inappropriate comments and behavior, expressing regret for the unprofessional office environment. He acknowledged that staying in Congress would have led to a prolonged battle to clear his name.

Following his departure from Congress, Farenthold launched his own radio show, which he hosted until his passing.
