Concerns are growing for two missing schoolgirls aged 13 and 14 who disappeared after visiting a leisure centre. Police are appealing for anyone with information about Sofia, 13, and Carla, 14, to get in touch.

The pair - wearing school uniform - were last seen at Abraham Moss library and leisure centre in Crumpsall at around 4.45pm on Thursday (June 5). Police today issued a public appeal to trace the pair, who officers say are known to visit Piccadilly Gardens and The Printworks in Manchester city centre.

Descriptions

Sofia, aged 13, is described as white, slim, with long dark hair, and is possibly wearing glasses. At the time she went missing, Sofia was thought to be wearing her St Monica’s High school PE polo top, black shorts, and black shoes, according to GMP.

Carla, 14, is black, around 5ft 4in tall, with long hair in braids. She was last seen wearing her St Monica’s School green blazer, black puffer coat and black school shoes.

In a bulletin published by GMP about the missing duo, the force said: "Sofia and Carla are thought to be together and are known to frequent Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester and around the Printworks area. Officers are becoming increasingly concerned about the welfare of Sofia and Carla and want to ensure sure they are safe and well."
