India's Test squad for England series
NEW DELHI: As the countdown to the five-match Test series against England begins, Team India is set for a crucial training session in Beckenham on Monday. The team, currently acclimatising to English conditions, will train from 9:30 AM local time (2:00 PM IST) — a session scheduled as a vision-only opportunity, meaning restricted media access with no interactions but an open glimpse into their preparation.
This marks one of the last training days before the players take a scheduled rest on Tuesday (June 10), as they look to manage workload and avoid early burnout during the lengthy England tour. The buzz around Team India’s fresh look — now led by Shubman Gill and head coach Gautam Gambhir — has already caught fan attention.
On Sunday, the BCCI shared behind-the-scenes visuals of the squad’s arrival and their early warm-up drills in the UK. The scenes at Lord’s indoor stadium — featuring a spirited huddle, football games, and sprint drills — showed the players shaking off travel fatigue and easing into game mode.
The Monday training session in Beckenham serves as a key checkpoint before India’s focus shifts to the first Test at Headingley on June 20. With senior names like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and R Ashwin having stepped aside, this series also marks the dawn of a new chapter in Indian Test cricket.
