MANILA, Philippines — A clear majority of Filipinos believe Vice President Sara Duterte should face impeachment trial in the Senate, the latest nationwide survey conducted by OCTA Research showed.
Conducted from April 20 to 24, 2025, the survey found that 78% of the respondents think Duterte should participate in the proceedings to address the allegations against her and defend her name. Only 13% said she should not face trial, while 9% were undecided.
Public awareness of the impeachment case was also high, with 91% of Filipinos saying they are aware that the Vice President is facing impeachment. Awareness is highest in Mindanao at 96%, followed by Visayas at 83%, suggesting strong national interest in the unfolding political controversy.
OCTA surveyed 1,200 adult respondents across the country. The poll has a margin of error of ±3% and a 95% confidence level.
