Meghalaya Police have successfully obtained a three-day transit remand for Sonam Raghuvanshi, who is accused of orchestrating the murder of her husband during their honeymoon. She is considered the primary suspect in the case by the authorities.

The police in Meghalaya have secured a three-day transit remand for Sonam Raghuvanshi, who allegedly hired individuals to kill her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, while they were on their honeymoon. She was taken to a police station in Patna, Bihar. According to the Meghalaya police, she is the main suspect in the murder of the Indore resident and is now being transported to Shillong.

This development follows the transit remand obtained by the Meghalaya Police yesterday for three other accomplices for a period of 7 days, who were apprehended in Madhya Pradesh. Additional DCP (Crime) Rajesh Dandotiya mentioned, "All four suspects are currently under the custody of the Indore Police Commissionerate, where they are being interrogated by the Shillong Police. The transit remand for the three suspects was acquired yesterday. Today, the fourth suspect was also arrested. The Shillong Police will accompany all four suspects after obtaining transit remand..."

Sonam was arrested in Uttar Pradesh the previous day. ADG Law and Order, UP, Amitabh Yash stated, "Sonam Raghuvanshi contacted her family members around 3 AM and informed them of her presence at the Kashi Dhaba on the Varanasi-Ghazipur main road. The Ghazipur Police escorted her to the hospital and then to the One Stop Centre in Ghazipur. Meghalaya Police were present in Indore to investigate the case. Sonam Raghuvanshi will be handed over to the Meghalaya Police upon their arrival in Ghazipur. The UP Police has not yet questioned Sonam Raghuvanshi."

Both individuals had gone missing on May 23 in Meghalaya. Raja Raghuvanshi's body was subsequently discovered in the state. The couple had tied the knot on May 11.

Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong responded to the situation by stating that four individuals have been apprehended in connection with Raja Raghuvanshi's murder. Tynsong revealed during a press briefing on June 9, shortly after Sonam Raghvanshi surrendered herself to the authorities, that one suspect is still at large. He confirmed that Sonam willingly turned herself in and mentioned that all the arrested individuals will be transported to Shillong for further investigation.

The post-mortem report indicated that the deceased Raja had sustained two head injuries.
