Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed members of all-party delegations on Tuesday evening at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. These delegations had traveled to various countries to showcase India's firm stance against Pakistan-linked terrorism post Operation Sindoor.
During the meeting, delegation members shared insights from their visits to different nations. The groups comprised MPs from different political parties, former MPs, and distinguished diplomats, emphasizing India's anti-terror position and commitment to global peace during their international tours.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar had previously met with the delegations and commended their efforts in articulating India's resolute stand against terrorism sponsored by Pakistan.
Among the delegations, four were led by MPs from the ruling alliance, including representatives from the BJP, JD(U), and Shiv Sena. Additionally, three delegations were headed by opposition MPs from the Congress, DMK, and NCP (SP).
Key leaders such as BJP's Ravi Shankar Prasad, Congress's Shashi Tharoor, JD(U)'s Sanjay Jha, Shiv Sena's Shrikant Shinde, DMK's Kanimozhi, and NCP (SP)'s Supriya Sule led their respective delegations to different parts of the world. The government organized these multi-party delegations to convey a message of national unity in the global fight against terrorism, with prominent figures like Congress MP Shashi Tharoor and AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi supporting India's cause abroad.
Former parliamentarians Ghulam Nabi Azad and Salman Khurshid, who served as Union ministers, were also part of these delegations.
