Government employees have started marching from the Secretariat towards Parliament in anticipation of the federal budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, set to be presented at 5 PM today. The employees are protesting peacefully against inflation, demanding salary increases, and addressing other concerns. To ensure security, strict measures have been implemented in the Red Zone of the federal capital.

A heavy police presence can be seen outside Parliament House, with additional officers stationed at the Secretariat gate. Security has been heightened at all sensitive locations, with the SSP Security and SP City overseeing the situation to prevent any potential incidents.

The administration has advised citizens to avoid unnecessary entry into the Red Zone and utilize alternative routes to maintain traffic flow and public order. Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb recently highlighted the ongoing economic challenges, stating that debt repayment remains a significant government expense.

During the National Assembly session scheduled for Tuesday, the budget proceedings will commence with religious recitations and the national anthem, followed by the presentation of the annual fiscal budget statement for the financial year 2025-26. The session will also include discussions on demands for grants and appropriations, supplementary approvals for the past three years, and the excess budget statement.

Furthermore, the Federal Finance Minister will introduce financial proposals for the fiscal year 2025-26 and present a bill for amendments to certain laws in the assembly.
