Olympic champion Julien Alfred had an unforgettable experience in Norway as she prepared for her Diamond League title defense. Celebrating her 24th birthday on Tuesday, the Saint Lucian sprinter had the opportunity to meet her childhood hero, Usain Bolt, at the Bislett Stadium in Oslo. Bolt, the fastest man in history, was a special guest at the stadium ahead of the Diamond League Oslo event on Thursday.
Alfred, who spent three years studying in Jamaica, had never met the eight-time Olympic champion before. However, she took the chance to approach Bolt when she saw him on the track. Overwhelmed by the experience, Alfred expressed, "It was so surreal! He’s been my idol since I was young and finally getting the chance to meet him in Oslo is so surreal to me. I’m still in awe."
