The upcoming Opel Frontera SUV is designed to be rugged, spacious, electrified, and perfect for family life. In anticipation of its launch in Ireland later this year, Opel has introduced the Frontera Gravel, a bold show car showcasing a more adventure-ready version of the new Frontera. This rugged vehicle, designed in Russelsheim and created in collaboration with motorsport tuning partners Blackfish and XS, is built to handle life off the beaten path.
Rebecca Reinermann, Opel's Vice President of Marketing, describes the Frontera Gravel as a tougher, more daring, and trailblazing concept that aims to excite fans and gauge interest in a bolder, rugged Frontera model in the future. The show car embodies the spirit of freedom, adventure, excitement, and pushing boundaries.
The Frontera Gravel is based on the all-electric production model of the new Frontera, featuring a low center of gravity and strong torque for off-road adventures. Equipped with special 7x16-inch CWE wheels from Borbet, this vehicle is ready to tackle rough gravel and stone surfaces with ease.
Externally, the Frontera Gravel sports a distinctive desert-stone color scheme with a matte black roof and bonnet, giving it a rugged and adventurous appearance. Orange accents on the exterior add a pop of color, while features like a front-mounted winch and hook, side storage boxes, and a robust roof rack enhance its practicality for outdoor excursions.
Inside, the XS specialists have created a bold and rugged interior with comfortable seats trimmed in microfiber and bright orange highlights. The headliner is finished in black, completing the adventurous theme of the vehicle.
For those interested in the Opel Frontera and its adventurous variant, Rochford Motors in Ballyhaunis is your local Opel dealer. Stay tuned for the official launch of this exciting SUV later this year.
