A tragic incident occurred in Patna where a woman police constable lost her life and three other cops were injured after being hit by a speeding car during a late-night vehicle check. The unfortunate event took place between Wednesday and Thursday around 12:30 am.

According to News18, the incident occurred on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday at approximately 12:30 am.

A video of the incident has been widely shared on social media, showing a black car slowing down briefly before accelerating and hitting multiple police personnel at the checkpoint. The officers can be seen trying to escape from the fast-moving vehicle, resulting in some of them sustaining serious injuries.

Onlookers rushed to assist the injured police officers, providing aid alongside other cops to help them stand up. One officer was visibly bleeding from a head injury.

Following the collision with the police, the car came to a stop with damage to its front.

SSP Avkash Kumar explained the sequence of events, stating, "Night checking was in progress when a car suddenly crashed into the police personnel. Two individuals from the vehicle have been apprehended. Three policemen were injured, with some sustaining severe injuries," as reported by News18.

The incident occurred at Patna's Atal Path, with the car reaching speeds of up to 90 km/h, as per the report.

Tragically, one of the injured officers, a female cop named Komal, succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital. She was a resident of Bihar's Nalanda, according to the report.

Authorities have detained two individuals who were inside the car at the time of the incident.
