Premier and delegation lands in Abu Dhabi for day-long visit.

During an official day-long visit to the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif engaged with the UAE leadership to discuss regional peace and stability, as well as ways to strengthen bilateral relations.

Recently, the UAE has shown a commitment to enhancing its longstanding partnership with Pakistan, including a $2 billion debt rollover announcement. In April, both countries signed multiple memoranda of understanding (MoU) to further solidify the bond between their people.

Upon his arrival in Abu Dhabi, PM Shehbaz was warmly received by the UAE's National Security Adviser, Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, according to The Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).

During a high-level meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, PM Shehbaz delved into various bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual interest. Both leaders expressed contentment with the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and the progress being made across all levels. They pledged to maintain close communication and collaborate to promote regional peace and prosperity.

PM Shehbaz extended an invitation to the UAE President to visit Pakistan in the near future.

The Prime Minister's delegation comprised Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Special Assistant to the PM Tariq Fatemi.

In a statement, PM Shehbaz expressed his delight at meeting with Al-Nahyan and thanked the UAE for its role in easing tensions with India. He emphasized the shared commitment to peace, stability, and prosperity in the region, highlighting the growing strength of the trust-based relationship, particularly in trade and investment. PM Shehbaz eagerly anticipated the UAE President's visit to Pakistan.

Earlier this year, PM Shehbaz participated in the World Governments Summit (WGS) in Dubai at the UAE's invitation. During the summit, he outlined Pakistan's vision for inclusive economic growth, digital transformation, and governance reforms.

The UAE stands as one of Pakistan's key trading partners in the Middle East and a significant source of remittances, with a substantial Pakistani expatriate community residing and working in the country.
