Maruti Suzuki Dominates Car Sales in May 2025 with Dzire, Ertiga, and Brezza Topping the Charts

Maruti saw 3 of it models on top 10 list of all cars sold in May 2025. There was Dzire at No 1 with 18,084 units, at No. 2 was Ertiga with 16,140 units and Brezza at No. 3 selling 15,566 units.

Maruti Suzuki emerged as the leader in car sales for May 2025, with three of its models ranking in the top 10 list of best-selling cars. The Maruti Dzire claimed the top spot with 18,084 units sold, followed by the Ertiga at No. 2 with 16,140 units and the Brezza at No. 3 with 15,566 units.

Maruti Dzire Leads the Pack

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire surpassed the Hyundai Creta to become the best-selling car in India for May 2025, with 18,084 units sold. Despite experiencing a year-on-year and month-on-month decline in sales, Maruti Suzuki achieved a total of 135,962 unit sales, capturing a 38.9% market share. The Dzire, Ertiga, and Brezza models showed impressive growth compared to the previous year.

Maruti Dzire at No. 1 in May 2025

The Maruti Dzire secured the top position in both the company's lineup and the best-selling car list for May 2025, with 18,084 units sold. This marked a 13% increase from the same period last year and a 6% increase from April 2025.

The Ertiga also experienced growth in both year-on-year and month-on-month sales, with 16,140 units sold. The Brezza followed closely at No. 3 with 15,566 units sold, showing a 10% year-on-year increase. However, there was an 8% month-on-month decline in sales compared to April 2025. The Maruti Swift hatchback saw a decline in both year-on-year and month-on-month sales, dropping to 14,135 units.

  • Maruti Fronx: 13,584 units sold

While the WagonR experienced a year-on-year decline, it showed a 4% month-on-month improvement. The Eeco van saw increased sales of 12,327 units, attributed to the addition of safety features such as 6 airbags as standard across all variants.

On the other hand, demand decreased for the Maruti Baleno and Grand Vitara, with sales dropping to 11,618 units and 5,197 units, respectively. Despite this, the Grand Vitara achieved a significant milestone by crossing 3 lakh sales within 32 months of its launch, making it the fastest C Segment SUV to reach this milestone.

Maruti Jimny Sales Surge

The Maruti Jimny, a niche product, experienced a surge in sales with 682 units sold in May 2025, marking a 149% year-on-year growth. This also represented a 58% month-on-month increase. The Maruti Ciaz and Invicto also contributed to the sales list, with Ciaz sales declining year-on-year but showing a strong month-on-month improvement, and Invicto sales increasing both year-on-year and month-on-month.
