Arrests Made After Violent Burglary In South Dublin Home

The owner of the home, a man in his 60s, was taken to hospital for treatment after the burglary.

Following an aggravated burglary at a home in south Dublin, four men have been arrested. The incident occurred at a residence in Shanganagh Cliffs, Shankill around 7.30pm. The couple in their 60s were threatened with a gun and assaulted during the burglary. The perpetrators fled the scene using a car and an electric bike.

The male homeowner, also in his 60s, was taken to St. Vincent’s University Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Gardaí responded promptly after the men left and conducted a search of the area. Three men were apprehended when a car was stopped, while a fourth man was arrested on an electric bike nearby. A semi-automatic firearm was recovered during the search.

All four suspects, including one in his 60s, one in his 20s, and two juveniles, are currently in custody at garda stations in Dublin. According to a garda spokesperson, investigations are ongoing.
