Trent Alexander-Arnold surprisingly gave his welcome speech entirely in Spanish as Real Madrid unveiled their new signing at the Estadio Bernabeu.

Trent Alexander-Arnold made a surprising move by delivering his welcome speech entirely in Spanish during his unveiling as a new signing for Real Madrid at the Estadio Bernabeu.

The 26-year-old right-back joins Real Madrid after spending 20 years at Liverpool, transferring for a fee of £10m to be eligible to play in the Club World Cup. Initially expected to leave Liverpool for free at the end of June, Alexander-Arnold's decision was announced in early May.

At his Real Madrid unveiling, Alexander-Arnold showcased his impressive Spanish skills, expressing his joy and pride at joining the club. He emphasized his commitment to giving his best, winning titles, and playing alongside top players. He revealed that he had been learning Spanish for a few months prior to the ceremony.

The event began with a tribute to Alexander-Arnold's memorable moments at Liverpool, including his standout performance against Barcelona in the 2019 Champions League. Throughout his career at Liverpool, he amassed numerous accolades, including two Premier League titles, two Carabao Cups, an FA Cup, and a Club World Cup.

Despite a mixed reception from Liverpool fans after announcing his departure, Alexander-Arnold was met with cheers as he bid farewell to the club. He will wear the number 12 shirt at Real Madrid, having to switch from his previous number 66 due to LaLiga regulations, and will have 'Trent' on his jersey instead of his surname.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez praised Alexander-Arnold's signing, highlighting his talent and commitment to the club. Alexander-Arnold is set to make his debut for Real Madrid in the Club World Cup against Al-Hilal on June 18 at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium.
