Boeing said it was ready to support Air India following the crash of a 787 Dreamliner on Thursday. It was the first loss of the widebody aircraft.

An Air India flight carrying 242 people crashed shortly after takeoff in Ahmedabad, with one survivor found and more than 200 bodies recovered. The crash marks the first total loss of a Boeing 787 Dreamliner since its introduction in 2011.

India's Home Minister, Amit Shah, expressed condolences and shared that one passenger survived the crash. US President Donald Trump called it one of the worst aviation disasters in history.

The aircraft reached an altitude of 625 feet before crashing into a medical college, resulting in casualties among students. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.

Flight 171 had passengers from India, the UK, Portugal, and Canada, along with cabin crew and pilots. US and British investigators are assisting in the investigation.

Boeing's CEO expressed condolences and readiness to support the investigation. The incident led to a sharp decline in Boeing's stock price.

Air India's CEO assured continuous support for passengers, crew, families, and investigators. Indian and UK Prime Ministers expressed sorrow and offered assistance to those affected.

The crash raises concerns for Air India, which has been revamping its operations since being acquired by Tata Group in 2022. The airline has faced challenges in aircraft deliveries due to supply-chain constraints.
