The prosecution in the crimes against humanity case against former President Rodrigo Duterte will answer before the International Criminal Court his request for interim release to a country, which his lawyer said has agreed to take him in.

The International Criminal Court's Office of the Prosecutor will provide a response to the defense's plea for the interim release of former President Rodrigo Duterte. This comes in light of his lawyer's claim that a country has agreed to accept him. Duterte is currently facing charges of crimes against humanity related to his anti-drug campaign.

The prosecution has been called upon to address the defense's assertion that they are not opposing the interim release, subject to specific conditions. Duterte's lawyer, Nicholas Kaufman, has requested that he be released to an undisclosed country, which has reportedly agreed to accommodate him during this period.

According to the defense counsel, Duterte does not pose a flight risk and should be released from ICC custody. The unnamed country has shown willingness to cooperate with the court and enforce the conditions of his release. The defense is urging the pre-trial chamber to order Duterte's immediate release into this country under suitable conditions.
