PD Coty, who retired from Kent Police in 2024, needs major surgery to maintain movement in her legs.

A retired police dog known for her bravery, PD Coty, is facing a critical spinal surgery that will cost £14,000 to prevent her from losing mobility, according to an animal charity.

Former Kent Police dog Coty, who served for almost four years, participated in various operations, including the G7 summit in Cornwall. She was praised for apprehending criminals, such as a domestic abuse suspect hiding in a crop field.

However, the five-year-old Coty retired in July 2024 due to arthritis and two spinal cysts. The National Foundation for Retired Service Animals (NFRSA) states that she now requires major surgery to avoid being euthanized.
