Amid escalating tensions, Israel and Iran engaged in a series of airstrikes on Saturday, with Israel launching a major offensive to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon.

Early on Saturday, air raid sirens blared in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, prompting residents to seek shelter as the two countries targeted each other with missiles. The Israeli military reported intercepting several missiles launched from Iran, with rescue teams responding to fallen projectiles across the country.

In Tehran, explosions were heard, and reports indicated that two projectiles hit Mehrabad airport, which is close to key Iranian leadership sites. Meanwhile, Israel experienced missile strikes in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, causing damage to buildings in densely populated areas.

Iran retaliated with multiple waves of airstrikes after Israel's initial attacks on Friday, targeting commanders, nuclear scientists, military installations, and nuclear sites. The United States military assisted in intercepting Iranian missiles heading towards Israel on Friday, with most of the missiles being either intercepted or falling short.

The back-and-forth attacks between Israel and Iran have raised concerns about a wider regional conflict, although Iran's allies Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon have been significantly weakened by Israeli actions.
