The rapper said things had gotten "gradually worse over the last few years".

A well-known rapper who was scheduled to perform at the Glastonbury Festival this month has made the tough decision to withdraw from the line-up and cancel all shows for the rest of 2025, citing mental health concerns.

In an emotional Instagram post, Bru-C informed his fans about this difficult choice, expressing his regret for having to cancel all upcoming performances for the year.

Originally named Josh Bruce and hailing from Nottingham, the rapper had to cancel eight shows in the US earlier this month due to health issues.

Since releasing his first EP in 2015, Bru-C has been a prominent figure in the UK music scene, with chart-topping hits like No Excuses and two platinum-selling singles. Despite the anticipation for his performance at Glastonbury's Arcadia area, he will not be able to attend the festival.

In his social media post, he revealed his ongoing struggle with mental health problems, admitting that things have worsened over the past few years and emphasizing the need to take a break to focus on his well-being.

While acknowledging that his fans may be disappointed, Bru-C stressed the importance of taking time off to recover and regain stability in his life and health.

He reassured his supporters that he is actively seeking help and support to improve his condition, although he remains uncertain about his return to the music scene.

Following his announcement, fans and fellow artists flooded the comments section with messages of support for Bru-C.

He is not the only artist to cancel shows at Glastonbury, as headliner Sir Rod Stewart also had to cancel six US shows due to illness, expressing his regret and promising to return to the stage soon.

Sir Rod is still scheduled to perform at the festival's tea-time legends slot on Sunday, June 29.
