Two Minnesota state lawmakers were targeted in separate shooting incidents on Saturday, leaving them in grave condition, according to officials. The shootings occurred in Champlin and Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.

A source identified the victims as state Sen. John Hoffman and state Rep. Melissa Hortman. Both lawmakers were shot at their homes, with the shooter believed to have impersonated law enforcement.

The two shooting locations were approximately 8 miles apart in Champlin and Brooklyn Park, north of Minneapolis. Both Hoffman and Hortman are members of the Democratic party, with Hortman being the former Speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives.

The FBI is assisting in the manhunt, as confirmed by sources. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz has also activated the State Emergency Operations Center in response to the incidents.
