A tragic discovery was made in Johor as a Malaysian teacher was found deceased in her residence on June 13, after being absent from work for an extended period.

Lo Kwan Fong's body was found in an advanced state of decay, prompting concerns from her colleagues who are now trying to locate her only known relative residing in Singapore.

At 39 years old, Lo resided in the Iskandar Puteri district and held the position of vice-principal at a primary school in Johor, as reported by Guang Ming Daily and Sin Chew Daily.

One colleague, preferring anonymity, disclosed that Lo had been missing from work for quite some time and had been living alone since the passing of her parents 15 years ago, describing her as an introvert.

Neighbors also expressed their worry as they had not seen Lo for an extended period, with information from a co-worker suggesting that her sole known relative is her maternal aunt who moved to Singapore years ago and is believed to be around 74 years old.

The colleague shared, "Despite offers from many individuals to assist with funeral arrangements, our priority is to locate her family member to give her a proper farewell."

Concerns had been raised in February when colleagues attempted to visit her home multiple times without success. However, it was on June 13 that authorities were alerted by neighbors due to a foul odor emanating from the residence, leading to the discovery of Lo's remains.

Given the state of decomposition, it was estimated that she had passed away nearly a month ago. Her body remains unclaimed at a government hospital morgue.

Described as a dedicated and respected educator, Lo's passing was announced on Facebook, revealing her mother's name as Jiang Laihao (transliteration) and the possibility of relatives in Taiping, Perak.

Authorities from Lo's school have stated that they are awaiting an autopsy report before proceeding with any further actions.
