Tragedy struck during the Chardham Yatra as a helicopter crashed in Gaurikund, resulting in the loss of seven lives, including a child. The incident occurred in the Rudraprayag area of Uttarakhand. Upon receiving the news, SDRF and NDRF teams promptly arrived at the scene to provide relief and conduct rescue operations, with efforts underway to clear the debris of the helicopter.
The ill-fated helicopter, owned by Aryan Company, was carrying seven passengers when the tragic accident took place at 5:30 am. Poor weather conditions are believed to be the cause of the crash. Helicopter Nodal Officer Rahul Choubey and District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar have confirmed the crash.
Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his sorrow over the incident, sharing the news on Instagram and expressing his prayers for the safety of all passengers involved.
