The family of a 27-year-old Person with Disability (PWD) who was fatally shot by a policeman in Cebu is seeking justice. Milagros Suico, the mother of the victim, is demanding that Police Staff Sgt. Florante Hoyle, the alleged perpetrator, be held accountable for the death of her son, Leo Vergel Fin Suico.

Leo was tragically shot inside their home in Toledo City, Cebu on Friday, June 13. The incident occurred following a confrontation in the neighborhood involving the policeman, who then entered the Suico household and fatally shot Leo in the head.

Hoyle, who surrendered after the shooting, is now facing a murder charge. The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) is conducting an administrative investigation into the case to ensure a fair and thorough process.

Police Lt. Col. Maria Theresa Macatangay, the deputy city director for operations of CCPO, confirmed that Hoyle is a member of the CCPO and emphasized the importance of all personnel upholding the law both on and off duty.
