The Liberal Party’s federal executive will meet on Tuesday to consider the fate of the NSW division. Sources said the two Victorians in charge would be replaced.

The federal Liberal Party is making preparations to replace the two octogenarian Victorians who were overseeing the troubled NSW division. This decision comes after ex-Victorian treasurer Alan Stockdale made controversial comments regarding assertive women, sparking concerns.

According to four senior Liberal sources who requested anonymity due to party rules, the current administrative committee's term is set to end on June 30. It is likely to be replaced by a seven-person committee led by a prominent figure within the party.

As per the proposed plan, starting from July 1, the NSW division will be managed by a committee consisting of five to seven members, representing each of the three factions, along with an independent chair overseeing the party's constitutional reform process. These changes were revealed by three sources familiar with the matter.

Alan Stockdale and Richard Alston, the two Victorians in question, have faced backlash from a significant portion of NSW Liberals following Stockdale's remarks about assertive women during a meeting of the party's women's council on June 3.
