With the Test series just around the corner, Karthik, who is currently the mentor and batting coach of RCB, shared his thoughts on Gill's new role. He cautioned Gill about the immense pressure and expectations that come with leading the Indian team in England. Karthik mentioned that many star-studded teams have struggled in England, highlighting the tough challenge that lies ahead for Gill.
Despite the daunting task, Karthik also pointed out a potential advantage for India. He believes that England's bowling attack is vulnerable, which could work in India's favor. He stressed the importance of India's batting performance in putting pressure on the English team.
As India gears up for the series, the team recently concluded an intra-squad match, although it was cut short due to unforeseen circumstances. The squad is now preparing to depart for Leeds for the first Test, scheduled to begin on June 20.
