Khawaja Asif warns global community to be “wary and apprehensive” of Israel’s nuclear arsenal.

During a recent Senate session, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar addressed the circulation of a video online featuring an Iranian official discussing Pakistan's potential involvement in the conflict between Iran and Israel. The video claimed that Pakistan would retaliate with nuclear weapons if Israel attacked Iran. However, fact-checking platforms have confirmed that the video was doctored and the Iranian official did not make such a statement.

FM Dar emphasized that the claims were false and irresponsible, urging caution when sharing such deceptive content. He also highlighted the importance of clarity in statements made during times of conflict, such as the recent tensions between Iran and Israel.

He further discussed Pakistan's role in facilitating diplomatic dialogue and evacuating Pakistani students and zaireen (pilgrims) from Iran. Dar reiterated Pakistan's commitment to nuclear safety and non-proliferation principles, emphasizing that Pakistan's nuclear program is for self-defence and regional stability.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif also warned the global community to be wary of Israel's nuclear arsenal and its aggressive actions in the region. Asif highlighted the need for international nuclear disciplines and expressed concerns about the consequences of conflicts instigated by Israel.

Both ministers underscored the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the region amidst escalating tensions between Iran, Israel, and other countries.
