GM on Tuesday revealed the 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X "hypercar" — a souped-up version of the Corvette E-Ray hybrid that went on sale in 2023.

General Motors has unveiled the 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X 'hypercar,' an enhanced version of the Corvette E-Ray hybrid that was introduced in 2023. This new model boasts impressive performance capabilities, including a twin-turbo V-8 engine and electrification technologies for faster acceleration.

The Corvette ZR1X is considered a 'hypercar,' surpassing the performance of a 'supercar' with its top speed of 233 mph and 0-60 mph time of under two seconds. Equipped with an LT7 twin-turbo V-8 engine generating 1,064 horsepower and 828 foot-pounds of torque, the ZR1X also features an electric axle for all-wheel drive, providing an additional 186 horsepower and 145 foot-pounds of torque.

According to Josh Holder, Corvette chief engineer, the ZR1X combines elements from the ZR1 and E-Ray models to deliver an exceptional driving experience. With the introduction of the ZR1X, Chevrolet's Corvette lineup now includes five different models, catering to a wide range of performance preferences and price points.

Corvette has been a highly profitable vehicle for GM, offering a diverse range of options from the affordable Corvette Stingray to the high-end ZR1. Megan Dalley, Corvette marketing manager, emphasized the brand's commitment to performance excellence and innovation with the launch of the ZR1X.
