A tragic incident unfolded in Reykjavik as a French woman was arrested in Iceland following the discovery of her husband and daughter, who had been living in Ireland, stabbed to death in their hotel room.

The family, who held French citizenship but resided in Ireland, had traveled from Dublin to Reykjavik on June 7th and were scheduled to return on June 14th, the day the bodies were found.

Authorities were alerted by hotel staff in downtown Reykjavik about the incident, which was described as very serious. The father and daughter were found on the fourth floor of the Edition Hotel with fatal stab wounds, while the woman in her 50s, also with stab wounds, was taken to a local hospital.

Following her hospitalization, the woman appeared in court and was remanded in custody. Police are still investigating the case and have involved the French Embassy, but have not reached out to the Irish consulate at this time.
