The Index Sleep Monitor is designed to compliment your Garmin smartwatch.

Garmin has introduced a new dedicated smart sleep band called the Index Sleep Monitor, offering a week-long battery life and continuous pulse ox tracking for monitoring blood oxygen saturation during sleep. This device is designed to complement Garmin smartwatches, providing users with a more comprehensive sleep tracking experience.

The Index Sleep Monitor is worn on the upper arm for added comfort and tracks various metrics including skin temperature, light, deep, and REM sleep stages, as well as variations in heart rate and breathing. The data collected is then used to generate a personalized daily sleep score that can be viewed in the Garmin Connect app. For users who prefer not to wear their Garmin smartwatch while sleeping, this device fills the gap by providing additional insights into sleep patterns.

In addition to traditional sleep tracking metrics, the Index Sleep Monitor also offers skin temperature tracking to assess how the sleep environment impacts sleep quality and identify potential illnesses based on temperature changes. This feature extends to menstrual health tracking, helping users monitor cycles, ovulation estimates, and improve period predictions.

Furthermore, the device monitors energy levels through its 'Body Battery' measurements, advising users to rest more when energy levels are low. When paired with a compatible smartwatch worn during the day, these insights become more accurate and reliable. The sleep band also tracks stress levels throughout the night and includes a smart alarm that wakes users gently during lighter sleep stages to reduce morning fatigue.

The Index Sleep Monitor is available in S-M and L-XL sizes, priced at $170.
