Annabel Rook, a 46-year-old charity worker who dedicated her life to supporting women and refugees, was tragically found fatally stabbed in her London home following a gas explosion. Described as a 'profound force for good', Rook co-founded the charity MamaSuze, which provided support to refugee and migrant women through art and drama activities.

The Metropolitan police have arrested a 44-year-old man on suspicion of murder, stating that the incident is 'domestic-related'. Rook's colleagues and friends have paid tribute to her unwavering dedication and kindness towards those she worked with.

John Martin, the artistic director of Pan Intercultural Arts, where Rook worked for 16 years, praised her as a 'larger-than-life character' who brought joy and happiness to the young refugees she worked with. Rook's pioneering work with the Amies project, a group supporting female survivors of trafficking through arts and creative activities, earned national recognition and brought hope to many.

Despite the tragic loss, Rook's legacy lives on through the impact she made on the lives of women and refugees she supported. Her boundless optimism and self-confidence continue to inspire those who knew her.

Firefighters responded to the scene of the gas explosion, where two children were also taken to the hospital as a precaution. Fortunately, they were not inside the home when the incident occurred.
