The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has announced plans to evacuate Indian nationals from Israel under 'Operation Sindhu' as tensions escalate due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran. Both countries have engaged in multiple drone and missile strikes against each other, leading to heightened tensions.

The MEA stated that Indian citizens currently in Israel who wish to return home will be assisted by the Indian embassy in Tel Aviv. The ministry assured that all necessary arrangements are being made to ensure the safety of the evacuees.

The Embassy of India in Tel Aviv will be coordinating the evacuation of Indians. Indian nationals are requested to register themselves with the embassy if they have not already done so. In case of any queries, a 24/7 Control Room has been established at the Embassy of India in Tel Aviv for assistance.

The Indian embassy in Israel has reiterated its warnings to all Indian citizens in the country to remain vigilant and adhere to safety guidelines issued by Israeli authorities. The safety and security of Indian nationals abroad are a top priority for the Government of India, and they will continue to closely monitor the situation.

Earlier, 110 students were evacuated from northern Iran under Operation Sindhu and brought back to India. The conflict between Israel and Iran escalated after Israel conducted surprise strikes on Iranian military and nuclear infrastructure under 'Operation Rising Lion,' citing concerns about Iran's nuclear weapons development.
