Axel Krein, the executive director of the Clean Aviation joint undertaking, expressed concern that the Commission's current focus is primarily on struggling industries, such as steel and automotive, potentially neglecting the aviation industry.
While Europe holds a prominent position in civil aircraft and air traffic management technologies globally, there is growing apprehension that this standing is at risk due to substantial investments from the US and China. Failure to take proactive measures could result in Europe losing its competitive edge and becoming dependent on foreign technologies.
