The lucky individual holding the winning ticket for the €250m EuroMillions lottery drawn on Tuesday night has been in touch with the National Lottery's prize claims team, as confirmed by the company.
The National Lottery has disclosed that the winning ticket was purchased from a retailer in Co Cork. The name of the shop that sold the ticket will be announced tomorrow, with no further details being shared at this time.
This jackpot marks the largest prize ever won in Ireland and the 18th EuroMillions jackpot won in the country since the lottery's inception in 2004.
Spokesperson Emma Monaghan expressed the company's excitement, stating, "We are absolutely thrilled to have heard from our EuroMillions winner. At this point, our priority is to give them the necessary time and space to make arrangements and let this life-changing news sink in."
The winning numbers for this jackpot are 13, 22, 23, 44, 49 with Lucky Stars 3 and 5.
