Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir recently met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to discuss stepping up diplomatic efforts to halt Israel's military campaigns in the Middle East amidst escalating regional tensions. The meeting occurred during the 51st session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Following a brief but intense military confrontation with India last month, Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif stated that it was normal for Pakistan to share battlefield intelligence with China, a close ally. While downplaying China's direct operational involvement, Asif highlighted the importance of sharing information with China due to their shared concerns about India.

The conflict between India and Pakistan from May 7-10 saw significant interest from Western militaries and security observers. China, Pakistan's principal supplier of military hardware, played a crucial role in providing support during the conflict. Pakistan's Defense Minister emphasized that the victory in the conflict was 'Made in Pakistan,' despite speculation about Chinese assistance.

China's extensive satellite capabilities were reportedly utilized by Pakistan during the conflict, although the Pakistani defense minister denied these claims. He stressed Pakistan's advanced capabilities in electronic warfare and precision targeting, asserting that China's help was valuable but the actual fighting was carried out by Pakistani forces.

China has been a longstanding defense partner of Pakistan, supplying military equipment and technology. After the recent conflict with India, reports suggest that China is expediting the sale of fifth-generation J-35 stealth jets to Pakistan, potentially enhancing Pakistan's military capabilities.

Despite the nuclear alert posture between India and Pakistan, the defense minister stated that there were no considerations of moving to a nuclear alert posture following the recent clash. He also dismissed the idea of launching a broader conventional offensive, emphasizing the changing nature of modern warfare.

While the conflict between Pakistan and India may have faded from global headlines, Pakistan remains vigilant due to concerns about potential future actions by India. The defense minister highlighted that India continues to be Pakistan's most pressing security concern, especially with upcoming elections and political pressures on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
