The NLEX Corporation has made an announcement that toll fee collection will be suspended on the northbound stretch from Balintawak to Meycauayan on June 22, 2025, from 1am to 12am the next day, June 23.

During this period, the tollway operator will be carrying out repairs on the Marilao Interchange Bridge, which was severely damaged following an incident where an overheight truck collided with it on June 18, 2025. The crash resulted in one fatality and six injuries.

The Department of Transportation has instructed the NLEX Corporation to halt toll collection until the repairs are finished. This is the second time an overheight truck has struck the Marilao Interchange Bridge. The tollway operator has been asked to provide an explanation as to how a second unauthorized truck managed to access the tollway and crash into the same structure.

The NLEX Corporation has clarified that the bridge is part of Bulacan's road network and is not under the jurisdiction of the expressway. The company has offered to construct a new bridge, but the upcoming construction work is focused on repairs.

While no traffic or lane-closure advisory has been issued by the NLEX Corporation, motorists traveling north from Balintawak should anticipate some traffic congestion near the Marilao Interchange.
