Ahmedabad plane crash: Union Civil Aviation Minister will chair a high-level meeting on air safety today with key officials including the civil aviation secretary, DGCA chief, AAI representatives, and other senior ministry members expected to attend.

Days after the tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad that claimed the lives of over 260 people, the black box of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft has been recovered. The incident occurred just 33 seconds after takeoff, crashing into a residential area near the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.

Various teams including NSG, NDRF, IAF, FSL, AAIB, DGCA, and CISF have been working together to inspect the debris scattered on the rooftop of a doctors' hostel in the Meghani Nagar area of the city.

In response to the crash, the DGCA has ordered enhanced safety inspections for Air India's entire Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 fleet to prevent any future tragedies.

The AAIB has started decoding the black box data to determine the cause of the crash, whether due to technical faults or human error. This crucial information includes engine settings, flight altitude, control inputs, and cockpit conversations.

A high-level multi-disciplinary committee has been formed to investigate the incident, focusing on examining the crash causes, reviewing SOPs, and recommending guidelines for future prevention.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the crash site and met with officials to coordinate emergency response efforts. The lone survivor, Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, shared his harrowing experience of the crash, highlighting his miraculous escape.

The recovery of the black box is a significant development in the investigation, providing valuable insights into the final moments of the flight and potential distress signals issued by the pilot.
